How firearms ship

FFL Transfer Process

Every firearm you buy online, from us or anyone else, must transfer through a federally licensed dealer. Here is exactly how that works, start to finish.

01

Place your order

Check out like any other retailer. Pay with card. The firearm itself does not ship to your residential address.

02

Select your FFL

Pick a local FFL dealer during checkout. If yours is not listed, we’ll request their license on file — usually same-day.

03

We ship

Your firearm ships directly to the FFL. You’ll receive tracking once the package is on the truck.

04

Complete the transfer

At the FFL, you’ll complete ATF Form 4473 and a NICS background check, pay any transfer fee the dealer charges, and carry the firearm home.

What if my local FFL isn’t in your directory?

Email us a name and address. We’ll contact the dealer for a license on file, usually within a few business hours.

What does an FFL transfer typically cost?

FFL transfer fees vary by dealer, usually $25–$60 per firearm. The fee is paid directly to the FFL at transfer, not to us.

Can I cancel after the firearm has shipped?

Once the firearm is in transit to your FFL, it must arrive and be inspected at the dealer. If you wish to cancel, you’ll refuse the transfer — we’ll cover return shipping and refund the firearm cost less a restocking fee.

What if I fail the background check?

You will not take possession of the firearm. We’ll coordinate a return with your FFL and issue a refund less shipping costs.

Can a firearm be returned after transfer?

Per federal law, firearms cannot be returned once transferred from the FFL. Inspect your firearm carefully at the dealer before accepting transfer.

How does an NFA (suppressor / SBR) transfer work?

Suppressors and SBRs are NFA-regulated. You pay for the item and the $200 tax stamp up front, submit ATF Form 4, and the item is held at your dealer until ATF approval (historically months, not weeks). Once approved, you complete the 4473 at the FFL and take it home.

Still unsure?

Call us, we’ll walk you through it.
